APAC Social Fundraising Dinner: January 19th, 2008 at 7pm

Dear friends,
We are sending you this invitation in hope that you can help us promote it within your respective organizations and circle of family and friends. Hope to see you all there.

What: An Eastern Breeze from Palestine: An APAC Fundraising Dinner Event

Where: St. Elias Reception Hall
750 Ridgewood Avenue

When: Saturday, the 19th of January, 2008 at 7:00pm

Dear friends and community leaders,

On behalf of the Association of Palestinian Arab Canadians (APAC) board and organizing committee, it is my pleasure to inform you that APAC will be holding their first "Social Fundraising Dinner" this upcoming January.

The fundraiser will take place at the St. Elias Reception Hall. The program will include an exciting variety of segments, featuring traditional and folkloric Palestinian music by Rula Shraydeh , Middle Eastern "Tarab" by Orient Productions band, folkloric performances by Baladna Dabkeh group and more.

The evening will also include a talk by Father Robert Assaly about the current situation in Gaza. There will also be a live auction, raffle tickets prizes, and an Art exhibit.

This will be a great opportunity to celebrate our Palestinian culture and heritage, enjoy great food, entertainment, and provide social and professional opportunities to network with community members and leaders from the various ethnic community groups in Ottawa.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be going towards the "In memory of Palestine-lest the world forgets" cultural festival in the summer of 2008 commemorating the 60 th anniversary of Nakba (the dispossession of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who were made homeless as Israel was born in 1948). Part of the proceeds will also be going towards the National Council of Canadian Arab Relations (NCCAR) "Break the Siege campaign", and the Childrens Hospital of Eastern Ontario foundation.

Tickets sell for $100 VIP, $75 general admission and $60 for students. Charity receipts will be issued for part of the ticket price.

Let's kick start the new year for APAC full of exciting activities and events! On behalf of the APAC board and the organizing committee, we look forward to see you there.

In Solidarity,

APAC Board and Organizing Committee
