It's finally happening! The launch of the Carleton community's own weekly student-run political film screenings is upon us! The first one will take place right here on campus this Tuesday with a film chosen by SPHR. Independent films will be shown on a weekly basis, followed by witty and stimulating discussion.
Everyone welcome! Ideas for future docs appreciated..

TUESDAY JANUARY 15, 7pm
118 LEEDS
Banned in France for five years...
A film about the Algerian resistance to the French occupation, this film was screened by Pentagon planners as an aid to understanding the Iraqi insurgency.
"How to win a battle against terrorism and lose the war of ideas. Children shoot soldiers at point-blank range. Women plant bombs in cafes. Soon the entire Arab population builds to a mad fervor. Sound familiar? The French have a plan. It succeeds tactically, but fails strategically. To understand why, come to a rare showing of this film."
